About Us
The Caspian Diabesity Expo is Hyderabad's dedicated public day of diabetes and obesity action: a full day where Hyderabad gets its annual metabolic check-up done with the doctors in the room, alongside free basic screening, specialist talks, hands-on workshops and an exhibition of everything that helps people live well. The 3rd edition, planned for Saturday, 14 November 2026, is not being held; the expo plans to return in 2027.
Why "diabesity"?
Diabetes and obesity are one intertwined epidemic. India has 101 million adults with diabetes, 136 million with prediabetes and 254 million with obesity (ICMR-INDIAB, Lancet 2023), and most people discover their diabetes years too late. The expo exists to move people from awareness to testing to action, in one day, under one roof.
If you want to start before the next expo
The expo is one day a year, and for most people the waiting is the hard part. Caspian Healthcare's obesity section is free, needs no registration and is written for patients rather than for doctors: how to check where you stand on Indian waist and BMI cut-offs rather than Western ones, why Indians develop diabetes at lower weights, what protein and muscle actually require day to day, and what the medicines used in India cost, do, and do not do. Nothing on those pages is for sale and no medicine is supplied through them.
Track record
The 1st edition (2024, Caspian Diabetes & Children's Health Expo) was Hyderabad's first patient-facing diabetes expo. The 2nd edition (23 November 2025, Banjara Function Hall) welcomed 1,500+ visitors, 715 metabolic profiles drawn in a single day, free basic screening and four specialist workshops, in collaboration with RSSDI Telangana.
Who runs it
Caspian Healthcare Foundation, an NGO registered at Hyderabad (Regd. Doc No. 30/2023, Bk-IV, SRO Golconda), with its own PAN and bank account.
Managing Trustee: Dr. Khizer Hussain Junaidy, Diabetologist & Bariatric Physician, Medical Director, Caspian Healthcare; educator and author of patient guides on diabetes and obesity.
The Foundation is physician-led and independent. Sponsorships and CSR contributions land in the trust, fund the free screening programme (each full metabolic screening is worth over ₹1,000 to the beneficiary), and are reported back to partners with audited utilisation. The check-up passes are delivered by Caspian Healthcare and its laboratory, Caspian Diagnostic Centre.
